Breast Cancer Patients Get The First Ever Social Media Show

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) November 30, 2011

Eliminating the gap between breast cancer patients and top breast cancer experts, digital marketing leader WireBuzz, renowned breast surgeon Jay K. Harness, MD, FACS and molecular diagnostics maker, Genomic Health Inc, have joined forces to launch the groundbreaking social media show BreastCancerAnswers.com.

"I'm honored to be a part of this ingenious campaign that gives breast cancer patients what they have always deserved, access to the top doctors and cutting edge information," said Dr. Harness. As past president of both the American Society of Breast Surgeons & Breast Surgery International, Dr. Harness and his colleagues provide easy access to invaluable information.

This highly interactive social media show enables patients across the dominant eight social networks (ex. Facebook, YouTube & Twitter...) to submit their questions and receive a video response back. Patient questions can also be submitted at BreastCancerAnswers.com/ask.

"After watching my step-mom battle breast cancer, I knew I needed to leverage our digital marketing expertise to help women," said Todd Hartley, president of WireBuzz.com. "So Dr. Harness and I built this amazing show that's always accessible to patients, just like my step-mom."

Each time a patient submits a new question, they receive an email with a video answering their question. These short Q & A responses, or episodes, are then published every week day across the Internet and into the show's growing Q & A video library. On BreastCancerAnswers.com patients also have access to Dr. Harness', Questions To Ask You Doctor. A user friendly form that can be downloaded, printed, and used during a patient's next doctor's appointment. Media Control Server Integrates iTunes, Receives Industry Accolades

Armonk, New York (PRWEB) November 27, 2008 - Autonomic Controls, Inc., a provider of award-

winning media integration solutions, was honored this month with the industry-selected 2008 CHIP Gold Award for its Media Control Server, a media management module that successfully integrates all digital media--even DRM-protected content--into a single library.

In the past, iTunes' DRM protection made it virtually impossible for the custom electronics industry to integrate iTunes and Windows Media files into a single media management system. In most cases, the iPod dock was the only solution. However, the twice-compressed files housed on the typical iPod offered noticeably poorer audio quality when amplified through an A/V system.

Autonomic introduced Media Control Sever to directly integrate iTunes and Windows Media content into multi-room audio installations, providing a totally unified--and DRM-compliant--media collection. Its two-way protocol works over IP wired or wireless networks, USB or RS-232, and controls iTunes, Windows Media Player, Windows Media Center and extenders. Mirage 2.0, the optional graphic user interface, lets users browse and search music, movies, recorded TV shows, videos, photos and more via touchpanel. PolyTune? technology allows up to four independent audio streams from a single server. No file transferring or re-encoding is required, delivering a maintenance-free media experience.

"Autonomic Controls was founded to simplify and enhance the enjoyment of digital media," said Michael de Nigris, CEO of Autonomic Controls, Inc. "This recognition from our dealers--for the second consecutive year--tells us that we're on the right path. Our future plans are even more exciting and game-changing."

The CHIP Awards are presented annually to products that made the biggest impact on the custom electronics industry during the year. These "high-impact" products are independently nominated by industry dealers, reflecting the most innovative--and useful--industry solutions. Dealers were asked to nominate products that helped them boost sales, save time and money, increase profits and provide a competitive advantage.

Also generating industry attention are Autonomic's partnerships with manufacturers like Crestron, Universal Remote Control and NuVo Technologies. A close partnership between Crestron and Autonomic provides enhanced support and functionality for iTunes and Windows Media Center integration on Crestron equipment. A collaborative effort with Universal Remote Control created the digital media server for the MX-6000, a two-way, touch-screen remote, which took home a 2009 CES Innovations Award in the Home Theater Accessories category. NuVo Technologies teamed up with Autonomic on Music Port, a digital media solution named as a finalist for the EHX 2008 Multi-Room Awards for Audio Source Components.

"Working with Michael and his team at Autonomic Controls has been an absolute pleasure," said David Rodarte, President and COO of NuVo Technologies. "The NuVo Music Port product that we developed together has received an overwhelmingly positive reaction from the press and from our dealers. Autonomic Controls has been a proactive, flexible, responsive partner that has delivered so much more than the typical contracted engineering team would."

"Autonomic is committed to this channel," said de Nigris. "The collaborative projects with our partners have been extremely rewarding, but the projects we're working on now for future solutions are what excite us the most."

THQ Taps Transmedia Producer STARLIGHT RUNNER ENTERTAINMENT to Prime RED FACTION? Franchise for Extension Across Major Media Platforms

Agoura Hills, CA (PRWEB) June 9, 2010

On the heels of THQ?s announcement to adapt popular third-person, open-world action videogame franchise, Red Faction, into a television movie, leading interactive entertainment developer and publisher THQ Inc. (NASDAQ: THQI) today announced a deal with Starlight Runner Entertainment, a New York based production company specializing in transmedia storytelling, to further develop Red Faction for extension across all major media platforms including film, television, online, mobile, books and graphic novels.

Leaders in the space, Transmedia Producers Jeff Gomez and Mark Pensavalle will expand the fictional universe mythology and further develop core story elements of Red Faction by applying their proprietary, transmedia development process. As part of this process, Gomez and Pensavalle will develop a backstory that connects the previous videogames in the franchise, as well as an upcoming fourth videogame entry and the recently announced Red Faction television movie. This work lays the foundation for future iterations of the franchise across a variety of touch points.

THQ will hold all rights to Red Faction transmedia projects and plans to work with partners to publish and distribute content outside of the videogame space. Gomez and Pensavalle will work closely with THQ?s Executive Vice President, Danny Bilson, and Director of Fiction Development, Paul DeMeo, on all creative implementations and will continue to consult on storylines and transmedia extensions for upcoming Red Faction projects. Transmedia production is set to kick off immediately.

?We were impressed by Starlight?s demonstrated track record with numerous high profile transmedia projects including Avatar, Halo and Pirates of the Caribbean,? said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, THQ Core Games. ?In order to fully realize our vision of creating franchises that successfully transcend gaming, we?re tapping the best in the business with Jeff and his team to make our game fiction more robust and consistent across multiple media platforms.?

?Red Faction has cultivated an excited and participatory fanbase over the last decade that is eager to engage and learn more about the Red Faction world, characters, and storylines,? said Jeff Gomez, Transmedia Producer and CEO of Starlight Runner Entertainment. ?Danny Bilson is a thought-leader in the videogame and entertainment space and a big advocate of transmedia storytelling - we are thrilled to be working with him and his team to create content that will excite the Red Faction community by allowing them to discover the secrets of the Red Faction universe.?

Jeff Gomez and Mark Pensavalle will be credited as Transmedia Producers on the project and are the first producers to claim the credit since it was ratified, with guidance from Gomez, by the Producer?s Guild of America in early April 2010.

Red Faction is a 3rd person, open-world shooter set on Mars, 50 years after the events of the original Red Faction. Players take on the role of freedom fighter Alec Mason, with the newly re-established Red Faction movement, as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force (EDF). The first installation of Red Faction was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, Microsoft Windows, and Macintosh by THQ and Volition.
